Seek the Kingdom of God Above All Else!

Luke 12:29-31(NLT)
And don’t be concerned about what to eat and what to drink. Don’t worry about such things. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need.
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that we should seek first the Kingdom of God irrespective of whatever we want in life, and if we succeed in seeking the Kingdom of God first, every other thing will be added unto us. Commitment to God and His Kingdom is key to greatness in life. A life that is dedicated to God can never be devoid of the additions of desirable things. Psalm 34:10 says “The young lions lack [food] and grow hungry, But they who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing.” The reward of seeking God first is priceless. Our hearts should be focused on pursuing God’s Kingdom so we can fully enjoy a rich life with Him.
In today’s world, great potentials have become great disasters on the commonness of immoral passion, all because people are seeking self not God. Many Christians are more committed to money-making and career pursuits than they are to the God who created them. Many can no longer fast again, they have turned fasting time to feasting time and replace their prayer time with business time. They are doing all this and expect God to still bless them beyond measure. What a shame? The place we give to God in our lives determines the place we find ourselves in time and in eternity. It is not possible to give God the first place in our lives and come last in life. Currently, we have some pastors who were originally genuine but got their passions for God corrupted because of mammon, the god of money. They no longer preach the old rugged holiness messages, for they are afraid membership will decrease and have therefore resorted to “sugarcoat messages”. They follow the multitude in loving what God hates and have replaced righteousness with wealth accumulation. They have replaced Godliness with godlessness, and integrity with prosperity. They are no longer concerned with the souls of the people but the pockets of the people. They are more interested in owning houses, cars, planes, designer clothing and so on than getting souls saved. Repent for the wrath of God is coming!
Beloved, your passion for God determines your portion, your prosperity from God, your progress in life, and your power with God, for where there is no passion, there can be no portion. Flirting with your passion for God is flirting with your destiny. It is written in Galatians 6:7-8 “If you think you can fool God, you are only fooling yourselves. You will harvest what you plant. If you live to satisfy your sinful self, the harvest you will get from that will be eternal death. But if you live to please the Spirit, your harvest from the Spirit will be eternal life.” Don’t let what to eat and drink cause you to sin, for your Father in Heaven knows your needs. Today, seek God’s face always and not just His Hand. Desire Him more than you want what He can do for you and your life will never be the same! Mark 10:29-30 says “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.” It pays to serve the Lord but it costs to serve the devil!
O Lord, I ask that You give me the grace to be dedicated to You and to Your Kingdom assignment. I surrender my all to You in Jesus’ Name.
