The Power To Tread

Luke 10:19 (KJV)

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The Scripture is clear that ruling over circumstances is our heritage as children of God. We discover that every believer is given the power to tread on serpents, scorpions, and all the enemy’s power. While on earth, Jesus demonstrated the authority and power God has bestowed on Him by walking in them. Having shown us what it is to be God’s children, He has empowered and mandated us to begin to operate as the children of God on earth because we share in His power and authority as children of the Most High. It is also good to know that every manifestation of the supernatural is the confirmation of the Word of God we have put to work. So, the Word we know and put to work is the force that commands the supernatural. As children of God, we possess an unmatched authority granted by Jesus Christ. This authority is not subject to any limitations or weaknesses that may stem from our own strengths or abilities. Instead, it is rooted in the power of Christ, which works in us and through us. Thus, we are fully equipped and empowered to confront any form of spiritual opposition, be it forces of darkness, evil, or deception. With Jesus’ promise that nothing will harm us, we can confidently stand firm and overcome any obstacle that comes our way.

In these uncertain and dangerous times, we can find inspiration in the promise of Jesus to protect us. Though we may face setbacks, the evil one has no real power to harm us. In Jesus, we are protected and have power over the enemy. We don’t have to be afraid, even in the scariest and most uncertain times. Jesus has given us authority over all powers and forces; the enemy cannot stand up to His authority, character, and truth. Psalm 91:13-14 says, Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.” Through God’s Presence in us and His love for us, we have overcome the world because the One in us is greater than the one in the world. Though our battles may be fierce, our victory is assured because we are conquerors in Christ. No matter what challenges we face, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, with Jesus on our side, we can face whatever comes our way, knowing that we have victory through Him. As children of God, we have the authority to live a life of victory and to forbid the devil to torment us. We are the custodians of the power, and we have got to use that power to advance God’s Righteous Will. Our sonship in God positions us naturally for supernatural power. The Most Powerful God cannot have a powerless child, for as many as received Him, to them gave He power.

Beloved, you’ve got the power over the enemy, and nothing is permitted to hurt you. You have the authority to live a life of victory and to forbid and resist the devil. Use the authority given just like a king will use his power to advance his course. Use the power to shut the door of sorrow the enemy had opened against you and open the door of victory and celebration that has closed against you. As long as you are fully submitted to the authority of the Most High God, you are above all principalities and powers. Do not give in to fear or let the enemy intimidate you. Instead, stand firm in your faith and confront any challenge with the Word of God. Believe in His power and trust that He will guide you through any obstacle. Any force of darkness that tries to resist God’s plan for your life will face His judgment. Any curse, conspiracy, or attack against you, your family, or your destiny is powerless against the mighty fire of God’s protection and justice. So hold your head up high, trust in His promises, and let your confidence shine through! Today, surrender entirely to God; obey His Word fully without any reservations, and you will have power over all satanic forces. Remember, your life is above hurt as a redeemed child of God.

O Lord, by the power You have graciously given to me, I nullify and destroy every demonic activity around my life, family, and destiny in Jesus’ Name.
