The Purpose Of God

Ephesians 1:11 (KJV)

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Our anchor Scripture reveals that  God is the God of plan and purpose. He does all things according to the counsel of His Purpose or the counsel of His Will. God’s Purpose is the key to our lives. He does not act aimlessly. God is Omnipotent, and His Power knows no limitation. He is all-powerful, and there is nothing that He cannot do. Nothing is beyond God’s reach or understanding. Job 42:2 says, “Then Job answered the LORD, and said, I know that thou canst do everything, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.” Job acknowledges that God has unlimited power and authority. He can accomplish anything—there are no limits to His abilities. He did not create anyone on earth without a purpose, nor did He create anyone to be wasted in life. God’s plan and purpose for His children is dependence. He did not design us to grow up and walk without His support. From birth to old age, He upholds and carries His people.

We serve a God Who is a Specialist in bringing good out of bad or evil, the best out of the worst, and meaningfulness out of meaninglessness. As Christians, we accept that even pain, suffering, and temptation work to accomplish good for our immediate and eternal benefit. Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” The crux of the matter is that no matter the circumstances we face, aligning our lives with God’s Purpose is essential, as stated in His Word. This alignment brings us in harmony with the divine plan, leading to a successful and fulfilling life. No matter how chaotic or painful our circumstances may seem, God’s purposes remain unshakable. Even when we don’t understand His ways, we can trust that His ultimate plan will prevail. The ownership of all natural resources, including precious metals and animals, ultimately belongs to God as our Father. As stewards of His property, we must manage it appropriately. It is not acceptable for those who oppose God to have control over His wealth or possessions. It is ethically wrong for the enemies of God to hold power over His resources. Isaiah 46:11 says, “Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.”

Beloved, God’s purposes are unthwartable, and His wisdom surpasses human understanding. Trust in His sovereignty, even when the path seems unclear. So, go for all made available to you in Christ. The purposes of God will eventually overcome the plans of men. No one can prevent God from using you, blessing you, and giving you success except you. When God wants you in a palace, nobody can keep you in a prison. Your future isn’t in the hands of others; it’s in the hands of God. Your God-given assignment in life doesn’t call for the cooperation or approval of everyone, but it does require the cooperation of one person—you. So keep your heart and your attitude right! Take time today to look around and praise God for all the blessings you may have never dreamed you could have. He opened doors no man could shut and paved the way for you to have what you have. God is deeply aware of your pain. The truth is that God is a compassionate Being who exercises complete control with wisdom over everything. So, learn to rely on the God who ordered the universe and holds it all, including you, in the Palm of His Hand. Today, discover your purpose and fulfill it. Remember, behind the scenes, God is working out cosmic purposes that extend far beyond your experience.

O Lord, grant me grace to discover and fulfill Your purpose for my life in Jesus’ Name.
