Psalm 63:8 (KJV)
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Dedication to God is a quality that can never be ignored and a key to standing out in life and destiny. It is living to give God pleasure in our lives. David wrote this Psalm when he was in the wilderness of Judah, and it is clear that he was brutally dedicated to God. He acknowledged God as his God and expressed his hunger and thirst for God. David’s dedication to God was not because of what he wanted for himself but because he wholeheartedly believed in God and acknowledged his emptiness and nothingness without Him. He was so dedicated and committed to the cause of God. David was a man after God’s own heart, and the passion with which he thirsted after God and clung tightly to God should serve as a reminder to all of us to do the same. His longing for God is like a thirst that can only be quenched by seeking and knowing Him. Just as David prioritized knowing God above all else, we, too, should seek a loving bond with our Heavenly Father. Deuteronomy 13:4 says, “Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.”
In this life, seeking after God should be our most important priority. When we seek after Him with our hearts and minds, we will find our souls becoming satisfied. When we seek after God, our hearts follow hard after Him; that is, our hearts pants helplessly after God. It is a life sold out to God, invested, or wasted on Him. It is a life set apart for God and His purpose in the earth. We cannot be passionate about God and not be dedicated to Him. Many people in this world are not interested in the state of their spirit. They are not interested in being devoted to God; it does not mean anything. Some wait to seek after God when they think the timing is right. The best time to seek God is right now because we do not know what the next minute may hold for us. There’s healing and grace for those who lay aside every excuse and seek after God regardless of their life situation. To effectively manage the pressures that we face in our lives, we must prioritize one key aspect: our earnest pursuit of God. By consistently seeking a deeper understanding and connection with our Creator, we equip ourselves with the spiritual strength and resilience to navigate even the most challenging situations.
Beloved, seek after the Lord with every fiber of your being and cling tightly to our precious Savior every moment of the day. Earnestly pursue God with all of you by putting Him in the center of your life to give you balance and perspective in any crises of life. Spend quality time with Him, meditating on His Word and praying. Express your love for Him daily through praise and worship. Dedicate time to knowing and experiencing Him. Commit to seek Him diligently through study, prayer, and reflection. Your heavenly Father eagerly awaits to meet with you. Today, Christ calls you to dedication, consecration, and total surrender. It will make the difference between success and failure in your spiritual life. This is your hour of decision! Don’t deceive yourself with present-day Christianity. If you are not desperately hungry to live a holy life, you become easy meat for the devil. Only the dedicated can take the Kingdom of God by force. Make up your mind to be interested in what interests God. Be consistent in heartfelt communion with God. The truth is, the closer you get to God, the more He will uphold you with His Right Hand.
O Lord, I receive the grace to love You with passion, the grace to love You like never before in Jesus’ Name.
