Taste And See

Psalm 34:8(KJV)

O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

The above Scripture confirms that the best thing that can happen to humanity is to put all their trust in God. It pays to trust in God, and the Bible calls us blessed. God desires to make us experience His Goodness all year round (peace, prosperity, progress, good health and sound mind, divine protection, and longevity). When we trust Him above everyone and everything else, we attract His Goodness. The truth is, those who trust in God can never waste in life; however, to not trust Him is to forfeit His Goodness. Psalm 23:6 says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Life will be fruitful and fulfilling with God’s Goodness and Mercy at work. God’s Goodness is His overflowing loving care for us. God is love, and God is good. The Goodness of God brings us His blessings and favor, and His mercy inclines His heart to relieve our burdens and pains.

As followers of Jesus, we get a taste of God’s Goodness and grace when we admire the beauty of His creation or recognize His blessings of provision, protection, and care. We experience His Goodness when we contemplate His holiness and infinite righteousness. Moreover, we enjoy His Goodness when we acknowledge the cost of Christ’s sacrifice for our salvation. God is not just a distant God but an ever-present force that offers an opportunity to experience His Goodness. We can taste and see He is really good, and by doing so, we discover new levels of enjoyment and comfort. While some may consider seeking an experience with God as a breach of faith, today’s Scripture encourages us to open our eyes and experience His Goodness firsthand. By doing this, we can fully appreciate and acknowledge the Goodness of God that surrounds us. While faith (Hebrews 11:6) is still the foundation on which we relate to God, we believe He wants us to experience Him in every aspect of our being. He makes all who truly trust in Him blessed. We will never go wrong when we put our confidence in God, and we will always find Him to be good. His Goodness shall be our reality every day of our lives! Psalms 27:13 says, “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.”

Beloved, to taste and see that the Lord is good, you must trust God and seek Him as your sole source of protection and provision. When you go through situations that swallow your hope and make you despair, always remember who God is, what He has done, and what He can do. Despite your current unpleasant situation, you will still experience the Goodness of the Lord. Take courage, believe, and confess that the negative situation you are currently experiencing will not kill you. Don’t allow it to rob you of your tomorrow for as long as the Lord lives; you shall see His Goodness in the land of the living. The Lord will shepherd you under His watchful eyes and feed you with His Goodness. Take courage, believe, and confess that the negative situation you are currently experiencing will not kill you. Never allow the defeatist circumstance to rob you of your tomorrow. No matter what the medical report says, your finances look, or how bad that relationship may seem, be confident that you will see God’s Goodness! He is the all-powerful, Omniscient Creator of the universe, and He holds you in the palm of His hand. Nothing is too hard for Him. As long as the Lord lives, you shall see His Goodness in the land of the living. So, dry up your tears, and don’t give the devil your vision because you need clear eyes to see and taste God’s Goodness. Never let the devil take your joy because the joy of the Lord is your strength.

O LORD, help me to experience Your Goodness in every area of my life as I put my trust in You in Jesus’ Name.
