John 16:23(KJV)
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Jesus revealed to His disciples that they would pray to God the Father and receive answers to prayer on the authority of His Name. In other words, they need to ask in faith in His Name, and God will grant their requests. The Name of Jesus is more than a phrase we add to the end of our prayers. All that God is and does is represented in the Name of Jesus. When we ask in His Name, we present our requests to the Father based on all that Jesus is. Thus, our Father glorifies His Son by answering our prayers in His Name. The Holy Spirit helps us pray as we ought to, and the Name of Jesus guarantees the answer! So, the Name of Jesus is God’s password for answered prayers. When we add the Name of Jesus to our prayers, things yield to our request. At the mention of the Name of Jesus, there is a release of immeasurable miracles. As children of God, committing the Name of Jesus to action will cause us to enjoy boundless riches. The angels of God move in our favor when we pray in the Name of Jesus.
Prayer is the most powerful pathway we have to God. In our prayer life, it is one thing to have the power to ask, and it is another to have the power to receive. Jesus said to ask, is to receive. More than anything else, we receive answers to our prayers because of the nature of God and our Lord Jesus Christ. The sacrifice of Jesus at Calvary grants us direct access to God, and His Name is the only medium of communication with the Father. So, when we come to the Father, He answers our prayers, not for our sake, but because of His dear Son, Jesus Christ. Asking in Jesus’ Name and not on account of our righteousness shows our total dependence upon Christ, who is our righteousness. As Christians, we receive all our needs because of the Son through praying in His Name. Praying in the Name of Jesus causes our joy to be full. Praying in His Name brings us some good news about our situation or circumstance that brings us joy. Matthew 11:28 is still saying, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” When we pray in the Name of Jesus, we find peace, and when we have peace, joy fills our hearts.
Beloved, you have the greatest blessing and gift of all times; the Name of Jesus. There is no other authority by which you receive answers to your prayers except through Jesus Christ. Speaking in His Name carries the same power and authority as though Jesus Himself was the one speaking. His Name has power everywhere. So, use the Name and principalities and powers will bow. Praying in the Name of Jesus will deliver you from any sickness, infirmity, or problem. Cancers and diabetes disappear at the mention of the Name of Jesus. The blind receives their sight through the Name. No matter what you face today, the way, truth, and solutions are in the Name of Jesus Christ. He is all in all. Come boldly expecting to have your requests granted, not because you’re worthy, but because Jesus is! Today, hand your cares and worries over to God in the Name of Jesus, and will experience the world of peace. Call on the Lord now while He may be found, and your prayer will work for you. Remember, for the Name of Jesus to work for you, surrender your all to the lordship of Jesus.
O Lord, I receive the power to effectively pray so that whatever I ask here on earth shall be established in Heaven in Jesus’ Name.
